The smallest maker
in the woodland.

Lisa Ladybug — co-founder and strategic counsel — and Ladybuggin Jewelry and Crafts, the hands-on practice that keeps the woodland's small things alive.

Lisa Ladybug

Lisa Ladybug is a co-founder of Woven Roots and its strategic counsel — the person who looks at an idea from every angle before anyone commits to building it.

She is the reason several of our more enthusiastic plans became workable ones. Where the rest of us arrive with a sketch and a feeling, Lisa arrives with questions: who is this for, what does it actually need to do, and what are we quietly promising by making it?

That is the work of strategic counsel, and it rarely looks dramatic. It looks like a long conversation, a rewritten paragraph, and a decision that turns out to have been the right one a year later.

She is also, not incidentally, the ladybug. Small, red, and quietly holding the whole thing together.

Ladybuggin Jewelry and Crafts

Ladybuggin Jewelry and Crafts is Lisa's creative practice — where the woodland's hands-on making lives.

Jewellery, crafts, small objects made carefully and slowly by someone who enjoys the doing of it as much as the result.

It sits alongside the digital work without apology. A pair of earrings and a sensory app have more in common than they look — both are things made by a person, for a person, with attention paid.

The ladybug is the mascot for all of it. She is small, she is patient, and she has never once rushed a piece.

The motif

You will find the ladybug all over the woodland if you look.

She crawls across the bottom of the home page on a slow loop. She appears in the concept art. She turns up in the margins of things that were never supposed to have a mascot.

That was not a plan. It happened because she was easy to draw, easy to love, and impossible to remove once she was there.

Some characters earn their place by being central. The ladybug earned hers by being persistent.

Why the small things matter

It would be easy to build only the big things — the books, the apps, the platforms.

But a community is mostly made of small things. A note. A drawing. A pair of earrings. A ladybug crawling across a screen at the exact moment somebody needed to smile.

Ladybuggin exists to keep that part of the woodland alive, and to remind us that not everything worth making needs to scale.

Some things are worth making simply because they are lovely.
